Join us in paying tribute to Churchill’s “Few” in commemorating this special
anniversary of Britain’s “Finest Hour”. Over what will be an emotive
2 days, the classic fighters of the Battle of Britain – Spitfires and Hurricanes
– will take to the sky in an extravaganza of fast-paced and nostalgic excitement.
Where else but Duxford, home of the Spitfire, will it be possible to see
squadrons off Spitfires taking off in a Spitfire Scramble or rare Hurricanes
in action?

Arrive London and transfer
to Cambridge, stopping on the way to visit the Mosquito Museum. rest of day and evening free.
Morning visit to the
famed Shuttleworth Collection of vintage up to WWII aircraft all in flying
condition! This is a terrific array of vintage aircraft displayed in 6
hangars. Often we see several Tiger Moths, a Spitfire, etc.
flying in this pastoral setting. .Visit to Duxford to visit the museums before the crowds tomorrow.

Big Air Show Day!
Transfer after breakfast to view the Battle of Britain air show.
One of the biggest and best WWII air displays in Europe! A great day to
experience the excitement of WII Battle of Britain War Birds in action.
Many of "The Few" the Aces of WWII are in attendance.

Sept 8

Back to Duxford on your own or OR a Free day
in Cambridge. A day to explore the city
and maybe take a punt (boat) ride along the "backs" of the Universities.
Maybe have a pint in the Eagle Pub.

Sept 9
|
This morning,
on our way to London, we visit Uxbridge
- Battle of Britain Underground Operations Center, memorabilia
museum and see a film about WWII. Off to RAF Hendon, where there's
a nice restaurant, "Wings", to buy lunch and visit one of the best aviation
museums. Rest of evening free.

|
Free days in London for those not going to the Normandy Beaches. Airport shuttle arrangements are made and included.

|
Depart this
morning for Paris via the "Chunnel". Drive directly to Caen.

Sept 12
|
Full day at the memorable D-Day Landing Beaches of WWII and the American Cemetery.

Leave Paris to connect with our flight home....
