Jerren
Auble has been taking tours all over the world for the
last 13 years, and she does it like no one else can! Who
else can raffle off a ride in a Tiger Moth at the
Shuttleworth Collection, as she was able to, just because
the group happened to be there at the right time? Who
else brings over American candy bars to offer as snacks
and just in case, has a few to bribe |
someone to get the group
allowed onto Downing Street to have pictures taken in front of
the Prime Minister's famous home. It's not just the aviation trips
and air shows that have brought people back for second (and even
five trips). It is Jerren's own personal brand of spontaneity
and adventure. These trips are loosely structured around well
researched locations and air shows, because you never know when
the group might drive by a "Kodak moment" castle or a view of
Mont Saint Michel that postcard photographers would kill for.
Or be at the church in Scotland where there is a bagpipe player
who joins the group for a tune and a photo. Or the classical orchestra
rehearsing in Salisbury Cathedral just as we arrive for an impromptu
concert. The adventures abound.
See what happens when you can't
afford a booth at Sun 'N Fun!
My personal interest in
aviation began in 1966 when I flew to the West Coast from Chicago
by "hitchiking" in private aircraft. I got to fly a Beechcraft
Bonanza 35C. What an experience! Following that, I began a career
with Continental Airlines as a flight attendant. Travel was
in my blood and somehow aviation, air shows and WWII aircraft
in particular, held me captive. With England being my favorite
country (other than the great U.S.A), I somehow figured out
a way to travel, fly and see England and help others enjoy the
same pastime. I was a student pilot and actually flew
a WWII Mark IV Spitfire at Duxford- a dream come true. Maybe
you can fly your favorite plane too.
There have been several
pilots, both male and female, aviation artists, and good old
aviation "nuts" as well as quite a few WWII vets and D-Day survivors
who have been on these tours. On my last tour to England, I
had 15 veteran Jerren Travel Service folks accompany me again
and some of those were 4th time travelers with me. So I must
be doing something right...at least to most of them! So join
us on one of our adventures and make some dreams come true!
